A very rare ceramic figurine inspired by the Disney Studios animated package film, "Melody Time" (1948). Featuring a figural rendering of the adorable Little Toot from the segment of the film of the same name, the figurine was produced in the late 1940's and eary 1950's by renowned Ceramist, Evan K. Shaw. Through the 1940s and 1950s, the Evan K. Shaw Pottery company and its sister companies, Metlox and American Pottery, produced a wide range of ceramics. In 1943, they were granted approval as a licensee to produce a range of Disney characters. These companies are no longer in business, and their highly desirable figurines are increasingly rare. Measuring 5"x3" and 6" tall, the figurine is in very good condition with minor handling wear.
